International Bureau for EpilepsyWe are delighted to announce the latest addition to the OneNeurology Partnership – The International Bureau for Epilepsy (IBE).

The IBE improves the social condition and quality of life of people with epilepsy and those who care for them. The organization is made up of laypersons and professionals interested in the medical and non-medical aspects of epilepsy.

Established in 1961, IBE has grown to almost 140 chapters in over 100 countries all around the globe. The Bureau is the recognized international umbrella body representing national epilepsy organizations that have a specific interest in improving the social condition and quality of life of people with epilepsy and their carers.

The Bureau also works in close liaison with the International League against Epilepsy (ILAE), an organisation of medical professionals involved in the medical and scientific issues of epilepsy.

Speaking about the decision to join the OneNeurology Partnership, IBE CEO Donna Walsh said:

“At the International Bureau for Epilepsy, we are firm believers in the value of collaborative advocacy actions across the field of neurology and brain health. Via the OneNeurology Partnership, we hope that we can leverage synergies, share learnings and best practices, and work together on common challenges and opportunities.
As the global voice of people with epilepsy, we are honoured to join like-minded organisations as part of this global, patient-focused initiative; teaming up to make neurology a public health priority everywhere!”
